Bihar has once again delivered an outstanding performance in the Civil Services Examination, with 15 candidates from the state selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). This achievement has brought pride to Bihar and reinforced its long-standing reputation as a major centre for civil services preparation.
Every year, aspirants from Bihar prove that discipline, persistence and focused preparation can overcome the toughest challenges. Cities like Patna, Gaya and Muzaffarpur continue to nurture serious aspirants, many of whom later move to national coaching hubs for advanced preparation.
Top Ranks Highlight Bihar’s Presence
Several Bihar candidates secured impressive ranks in the merit list. Raj Krishna Jha from Sitamarhi secured AIR 8, making him one of the top performers nationwide. He was followed by Hemant (AIR 13) and Sanskriti Trivedi (AIR 17). The presence of multiple candidates across different ranks reflects the depth of talent emerging from the state.
These newly selected officers will now serve in different states, beginning their administrative journeys across varied governance environments. The success has created widespread enthusiasm among families, mentors and aspiring candidates in Bihar.
Cadre Allotment Shapes Administrative Careers
Cadre allotment plays a vital role in an IAS officer’s career, as it determines the state or Union Territory where the officer begins service. It also shapes long-term administrative exposure and professional growth. Officers from Bihar have historically served with distinction in other states and later taken on key responsibilities at the central level.
