Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced its Interactive Free TV (IFTV) pilot project in Uttar Pradesh East, marking a transformative step in digital connectivity and entertainment. Launched on the auspicious occasion of Mahakumbh, IFTV aims to revolutionize the entertainment experience by offering over 500 live TV channels, including premium options, at no additional cost to BSNL’s Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) users.
Following its successful pilot in Puducherry, this is the first rollout in Uttar Pradesh, with plans to expand to Maharashtra, Bihar, and Jharkhand by February 2025, and nationwide soon after. IFTV provides users with live TV, movies, web series, and documentaries in multiple languages, leveraging BSNL’s secure mobile intranet for seamless streaming with exceptional video quality.
BSNL CMD A Robert J. Ravi stated, “With IFTV, we empower customers to access entertainment ‘anytime, anywhere,’ free of cost. This service replaces outdated PRBT systems with state-of-the-art technology.”
Partnering with OTT aggregator OTTplay, BSNL is integrating its network with curated digital content. Avinash Mudaliar, CEO of OTTplay, added, “This innovation redefines how BSNL customers experience cinema and content across languages and regions.”
