The Punjab Government issued a transfer order of IAS officer V.K. Janjua making him the new Chief Secretary of the state. He replaced the Chief Secretary Anirudh Tiwari who has now been appointed as the Director General of Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration.
Janjua is a dynamic officer who holds the degrees of Electronics and Law. He did Engineering in Electronics from Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh. A native of Pathankot in Punjab, Janjua passed his LLB from Panjab University during his job. He also did MBA with Finance major from IGNOU New Delhi.
Prior to his new assignment, Janjua was holding the charge of Special Chief Secretary, Jails in addition to Special Chief Secretary, Elections.
He got selected in IAS in 1989 with All India 12th Rank and was allotted Punjab Cadre. He also pursued MA in International Development Policies from Duke University USA.
Apart from being a part of the administration, Janjua is also a avid sports lover and a weight lifter who lifted 250 Kg in National Master’s Men Classic Power Lifting Championship.
