On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for the setting up of a high-powered police technology mission to adopt the newest tech in the policing grassroots. The mission is to be led by the Home Minister of India, Amit Shah.
During the valedictory session of the DGPs/IGPs conference organised by the Intelligence Bureau at Lucknow, the PM stated examples of platforms like CoWIN, GeM and UPI to state the need for technology in the overall upliftment of the general public. He also expressed his views on drone technology and how it is changing the lives of people.
The Prime Minister also suggested the development of interoperable technologies for the benefit of police forces across the country.
