In a move aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and enhancing district-level policing, the Punjab government has carried out a strategic reshuffle involving five IPS officers. The transfer exercise—positioned as part of an ongoing governance-improvement and development-focused approach—seeks to streamline law-enforcement operations across multiple districts.
Focused Governance Push Through IPS Reassignments
The latest reshuffle reflects the state administration’s continued commitment to ensuring responsive and development-oriented policing. By placing experienced and emerging officers in key district roles, the government aims to accelerate decision-making, public-service delivery, and security-related responsiveness.
Key Officers Assigned to New Leadership Roles
As per the official list, the following officers have been reassigned to new positions:
- Mr. Akhil Chaudhary, IPS (RR:2012) has been appointed AIG Administration, ANTF, Punjab at SAS Nagar.
- Mr. Suhail Qasim Mir, IPS (RR:2017) has been posted as SSP Amritsar Rural against a vacant position.
- Mr. Mehtab Singh, IPS (RR:2017) has been appointed SSP Batala in place of Mr. Suhail Qasim Mir.
- Mr. Tushar Gupta, IPS (RR:2018) has been appointed SSP SBS Nagar replacing Mr. Mehtab Singh.
- Mr. Abhimanyu Rana, IPS (RR:2018) has been posted as SSP Sri Muktsar Sahib in place of Mr. Akhil Chaudhary.
Strengthening Local Policing for Public-Centric Development
