After retired IAS officer Kushal Singh, 1985 batch IAS officer Usha Sharma has been appointed as the state’s second women Chief Secretary. She will succeed incumbent Niranjan Arya, who retired from the service.
As the chief secretary, Ms Sharma will invariably also be the chief advisor to the chief minister. Prior to this, she was serving as the secretary of the Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry in New Delhi on deputation.
