New Delhi: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has approved the appointment of Chartered Accountant Vishal Puri as a Non-Official Independent Director (NOID) on the Board of NBCC (India) Ltd. The appointment, sanctioned by the Competent Authority, will be valid for a period of three years from the date of notification or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Formal Induction as Additional Director
In compliance with the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, NBCC (India) Ltd has officially appointed Mr. Puri as an Additional Director (Independent) with effect from May 23, 2025. His induction strengthens the board’s financial and governance capabilities amid the company’s expanding project portfolio.
A Distinguished Career in Finance and Law
CA Vishal Puri, based in Chandigarh, is a seasoned finance professional with 17 years of extensive experience in accountancy, taxation, auditing, and financial management. Since 2008, he has maintained an active practice as a Chartered Accountant, advising a wide range of clients and organizations.
His academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and an LLB from Panjab University. Professionally, he is a Chartered Accountant certified by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and holds a DISA (Diploma in Information Systems Audit), highlighting his specialization in IT and systems audit.
Leadership and Professional Contributions
Mr Puri has served as the Chairman of the Chandigarh Branch of ICAI, where he played a key role in promoting ethical standards, professional education, and mentorship. His leadership within the institute has earned him recognition as a thought leader in the accounting community.
Independent and Unaffiliated
As per NBCC’s regulatory disclosure, there is no relationship between Mr. Puri and any other director on the Board. This affirms his independent status, a critical requirement for maintaining transparency and accountability within the board structure.
