Central Government of India has opened doors for female candidates to join defence services through NDA. The Union government had informed Supreme Court in this regard. The examination will be taken by UPSC.
Few days ago in an interim order the Supreme Court of India decided to allow women candidates to appear in the National defence academy’s entrance exam where only male candidates were allowed so far. The supreme Court bench headed by Justice Sanjay kishan kaul asked centre to take some policy level decisions for the final order.
Additional solicitor general Aishwarya bhati who is appearing for centre said on Thursday that , “there is a piece of good news. A decision has been taken at the highest level of forces and government that women will be inducted for the permanent commission through the National defense academy.” The decision is taken by all the three forces chiefs after deep discussion. The supreme Court bench asked ASG bhati to file an affidavit to record this statement and the final hearing will be held on September 22, 2021.
