Mumbai: Central Bank of India has announced major promotions in its senior management cadre, effective April 1, 2026. These changes strengthen leadership across critical departments and regional zones, reflecting the bank’s commitment to operational efficiency, governance, and strategic growth.
Chief General Manager Appointments
As part of the senior leadership restructuring, the following officers have been promoted to Chief General Manager:
- Sohail Ahmad – formerly General Manager, Emerging Business & Cent Pragati Department
- Kushal Pal – formerly General Manager, Human Capital Management & Board Secretariat
- Kavita Thakur – formerly Chief Compliance Officer
These executives bring decades of experience in areas such as emerging business operations, human capital management, and compliance, and are expected to provide strong leadership for the bank’s national operations.

General Manager Promotions
In addition, six officers have been elevated to the rank of General Manager, reinforcing leadership across key zones and departments:
- Pramod Mishra – Deputy General Manager, Bhopal Zone
- Birendra Mehta – Deputy General Manager, Recovery Department
- Dr. Himanshu Gupta – Deputy General Manager, MSME Department
- Raj Kokil Singh – Deputy General Manager, Kolkata Zonal Office
- Suresh Singh – Deputy General Manager & Regional Head, North Mumbai
- Anil Kumar – Deputy General Manager & Zonal Head, Guwahati
These officers have 13 to 35 years of experience in functions including MSME, recovery, compliance, and zonal operations, ensuring the bank’s operational and administrative capabilities are strengthened across its network.

According to Chandrakant Bhagwat, Company Secretary & Compliance Officer, the promotions reflect Central Bank of India’s commitment to robust governance and strategic growth. The leadership changes are designed to:
