The central deputation tenure of Ashok Kumar, an IPS officer of the 2006 batch from Himachal Pradesh, as Director in the Department of Justice has been extended for an additional six months.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued the order on Monday, confirming that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal to extend his deputation until May 26, 2025, or until further orders, whichever comes first.

Ashok Kumar’s extended tenure reflects his significant role in the Department of Justice, where he has been involved in various initiatives related to judicial reforms and legal administration. This extension will allow him to continue in his capacity as Director until the new term ends.
