New Delhi: The Central Government has approved an extension for Praveen Mal Khanooja, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. His tenure, which was previously set to end on August 11, 2025, will now be extended until November 7, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
According to the order approved by Director Sakshi Mittal, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has officially sanctioned the extension of Khanooja’s central deputation tenure. Khanooja, an officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) from the 1994 batch, will continue to serve in his current role during this extended period.
This move ensures the continuity of leadership in the ministry, which plays a critical role in shaping India’s energy and petroleum policies.
