New Delhi: In a major judicial development, the Government of India has initiated the process for the appointment of 11 Judges and Additional Judges to the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The proposals are currently under consideration, as per a letter dated July 23, 2025, issued by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice.
The communication was addressed to the Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Jabalpur.
Proposed Appointments Include Advocates and Judicial Officers
The list of proposed appointments comprises both advocates and judicial officers, categorized as follows:
(a) Proposed as Judges:
Advocates:
- Pushpendra Yadav
- Anand Singh Bahrawat
- Ajay Kumar Nirankari
- Jai Kumar Pillai
- Himanshu Joshi
Judicial Officers:
- 6. Ramkumar Choubey
- 7. Rajesh Kumar Gupta
These appointments will be effective from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.
(b) Proposed as Additional Judges (Two-Year Term):
Judicial Officers:
Alok Awasthi
- Ratnesh Chandra Singh Bisen
- Bhagwati Prasad Sharma
(c) Pradeep Mittal as Additional Judge:
Judicial Officer Pradeep Mittal is proposed to be appointed as an Additional Judge for two years with effect from August 10, 2025, coinciding with the date of occurrence of a vacancy.
Documentation and Confidentiality Requested
In anticipation of Presidential approval, the Department of Justice has requested the Madhya Pradesh High Court to submit the following documentation for each candidate:
- Certificate of Date of Birth (Annexure-III)
- Certificate of Physical Fitness (Annexure-II)
Correct spelling of names in English and Hindi (Typed in capital letters with initials)
The required documents must be sent via email to designated government addresses and are to be treated as strictly confidential until the appointments are formally notified.
