Several eminent bureaucrats were recently appointed as Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) & Private Secretary to several Union Ministers.
They are:
- Mr. Bharat Maheshwari (2014-batch IFoS Officer) was appointed Private Secretary (PS) to the Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, Mr. Harsh Malhotra, at the Deputy Secretary level for a tenure up to 26.06.2026 (i.e. for the maximum admissible tenure of 7 years away from the cadre) with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or on a co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as PS to the Minister or until further orders, whichever transpires earlier.
- Mr. Alkesh Uttam (2013-batch IRS (Income Tax) officer) was appointed Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Union Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Pankaj Chaudhary, at the Deputy Secretary level for a term of three years, three months, and nine days with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or on a co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister or until further orders, whichever transpires earlier.
- Mr. Narayana Ramachandra Gambhir was appointed Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public and New & Renewable Energy, Mr. Pralhad Joshi, at the level of Director with pay at level 13 of the pay matrix.
