Several eminent bureaucrats posted in the Centre received a tenure extension. These officers are:
- IAS Ajay Kumar Garg’s (2010-batch AGMUT cadre) tenure as the DCO/DCR of Delhi has been extended for fifteen months. A circular from the DoPT read that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the proposal of the Office of Registrar General of Inda to extend Officer Garg’s deputation tenure beyond 01.09.2024 up to 31.12.2025 (6 years, 3 months and 30 days away from cadre) or until further orders, whichever transpires earlier.
- IFoS Priya Ranjan (1998 batch), the incumbent Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, received retrospective approval for the extension of his additional charge as the Managing Director of the National Horticulture Board (NHB). DoPT’s circular reads that the ACC approved the proposal of Officer Ranjan’s tenure extension in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for ex-post facto approval for a period from 23.09.2023 to 22.09.2024 or till the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post or until further orders, whichever transpires earlier.
- IRS (Income Tax) Officer Anita Rupavataram’s (2003 batch) tenure as the Director in the Office of the Custodian in Mumbai under the Department of Financial Services has been extended for a further period of one year. DoPT’s circular reads that the ACC has approved the proposal of the Department of Financial Services to extend Officer Rupavataram’s deputation for further one year beyond 24.10.2024 and up to 24.10.2025 (a total tenure of 7 years outside the cadre at a stretch) or till the winding up of the Office of Custodian (which is currently extended up to 31.12.2024), or until further orders, whichever happens earlier.
