Champawat: The seven-day Champawat Saras Corbett Festival–2026 was virtually inaugurated by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the Tonkpur municipal area of Champawat district. The festival aims to celebrate the state’s rich cultural heritage, boost winter tourism, and promote adventure activities in the region. CM Dhami described the event as a symbol of Uttarakhand’s commitment to “self-reliant development” and cultural preservation.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the festival is a key step toward establishing Champawat as an adventure tourism hub while highlighting the district’s historical and wildlife legacy associated with the legendary hunter and naturalist Jim Corbett.
Adventure Tourism and Exciting Activities on Offer
Over the next seven days, the festival will host a wide range of adventure and tourism activities, including:
- Paragliding
- Mountain biking
- River rafting
- Hot air balloon rides
- Trekking
- Bird watching
These activities are designed to give the region a new identity in adventure tourism and attract visitors year-round. The festival also promotes winter tourism, marking the event as the state’s first winter edition of the Saras Corbett Festival.
