Raipur: Chief Minister Mr Vishnu Deo Sai launched the Sarthak and Rakshak campaigns on the occasion of the 15th foundation day of the Chhattisgarh State Child Rights Protection Commission. These campaigns aim to enhance public awareness of child rights and child protection laws across the state.
Role of the Commission in Promoting Child Rights
Addressing the gathering at Pandit Deendayal Auditorium in Raipur, CM Sai acknowledged the vital role played by the Commission in promoting awareness about child rights, particularly in the remote regions of Chhattisgarh. He expressed confidence that the newly launched campaigns would significantly contribute to building awareness among the masses.

Emphasis on Education and Protection from Exploitation
The Chief Minister underscored the importance of education in building a strong society. He highlighted that many children in remote areas, especially in Bastar and Surguja divisions, are forced to migrate in search of work at a young age and often become victims of exploitation due to lack of awareness. He stressed the Commission’s responsibility in identifying such children, connecting them with employment opportunities, and ensuring their access to government welfare schemes.
He also mentioned several initiatives aimed at improving educational access for children and youth, including government-run schools, colleges, coaching facilities, and programs like Prayas, Nalanda Campus, and Tribal Youth Hostels in Delhi.
Details of Sarthak and Rakshak Campaigns
Commission Chairperson Mrs Varnika Sharma provided an overview of the Commission’s ongoing efforts and the objectives of the new campaigns. The Sarthak campaign is focused on spreading awareness about child rights, while the Rakshak campaign is tailored to educating university students and institutions about child protection laws.
