Ranchi: The Chhattisgarh government has initiated a significant administrative reshuffle involving the transfer and reassignment of 14 senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. The orders, issued by the General Administration Department, reflect the state leadership’s intent to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and optimize departmental leadership across multiple sectors, including education, finance, energy, and district administration.
Key Appointments and Transfers
- Renu G. Pillay (1991 batch), previously Chief Secretary, Science and Technology and Chairman of Vyapam, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education with additional charge.
- Subrat Sahu (1992 batch) has been named Director General of the Chhattisgarh Academy of Administration and additionally given charge as Chairman of the Revenue Board, Bilaspur. Notably, both Pillay and Sahu have been moved out of Secretariat roles despite their seniority, following the appointment of the new Chief Secretary, Vikasheel.
- Sonmani Bora (1997 batch) now holds additional charges as Principal Secretary for both Tribal Welfare and Science & Technology departments.
- Dr. Rohit Yadav (2002 batch) has been appointed Secretary of both the Energy Department and the Public Relations Department, replacing P. Dayanand, who was the previous Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.
- Avinash Champawat (2003 batch) has been appointed Secretary of the Religious Trusts and Endowments Department.
- Mukesh Bansal (2005 batch) has been given additional charge of the Finance Department, alongside his role as Chief Minister’s Secretary and Secretary of the Aviation Department.
- Farid Ansari (2016 batch) has been promoted as Secretary, School Education Department.
- Kuldeep Sharma has received additional charge as Managing Director of the Warehousing Corporation.
New Collector for Rajnandgaon District
In a significant district-level change, Jitender Yadav has been appointed as the new Collector of Rajnandgaon district. This move follows the central deputation of the current Collector, Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhuren.
