New Delhi: In a significant step toward bolstering India’s transport infrastructure capabilities, Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) and Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) have entered into a strategic agreement to jointly undertake large-scale railway and multi-modal transport infrastructure projects, both in India and overseas.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishes a framework for long-term collaboration, combining the strengths of both organizations to deliver integrated, end-to-end transport solutions across the infrastructure spectrum.

Scope of Collaboration: Full-Spectrum Transport Solutions

  • Track laying
  • Signalling and electrification
  • MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems

Advanced transport systems and engineering solutions

The joint venture aims to tackle complex and large-scale infrastructure projects, including underground and elevated metro systems, NATM (New Austrian Tunneling Method) tunnels, railway bridges, and large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts.

Leadership Commentary

By combining capabilities, we aim to expand our presence in both domestic and international markets while delivering fully integrated transport solutions that span civil construction and rail systems,” said Arjun Dhawan, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of HCC.

This strategic partnership positions both KRCL and HCC as key players in India’s rapidly growing infrastructure sector, while also opening doors to international markets seeking experienced contractors for complex railway and multimodal projects.

Strengthening India’s Infrastructure and Global Footprint

The partnership is aligned with the Indian government’s push for modernizing railways, urban mobility, and multi-modal connectivity under schemes like PM Gati Shakti, and will support the country’s ambition to become a global infrastructure powerhouse.

With Konkan Railway’s rich expertise in railway engineering and project execution, and HCC’s proven record in heavy civil construction, the synergy is expected to yield cost-effective, efficient, and technologically advanced transport infrastructure solutions.
