Mr. Amit Kumar, an IPS officer of the 1998 batch from Chhattisgarh, currently serving as Additional Director General (ADG) of Chhattisgarh Police, was awarded the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service by Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah. The award was presented during a ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on January 7, 2025.
Mr. Kumar is recognized for his exceptional contributions to law enforcement, notably his role as the former Joint Director (Policy) at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), New Delhi. He was instrumental in investigating the fodder scam, which involved former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad. His dedication to upholding justice has earned him widespread recognition in the police and investigative communities.
