The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) recently took a significant step towards supporting the families of divyang (differently-abled) children under the aegis of its welfare initiative, Sanrakshika. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by families of speech and hearing-impaired children, CISF organized two comprehensive counseling sessions in a hybrid format, combining in-person and virtual participation.
Expert Guidance at AIIMS-CAPFIMS, New Delhi
The first session was held at AIIMS-CAPFIMS, New Delhi, where a team of specialists from the Departments of Pediatrics and ENT offered professional guidance to parents. The experts provided practical insights into the care, development, and education of children with speech and hearing impairments. Parents were given the opportunity to engage directly with the doctors, clarifying doubts and receiving personalized advice tailored to their children’s specific needs.

Interactive Session at CISF Headquarters, New Delhi
The second session took place at GO’s Mess, CISF Headquarters, with eminent doctors from VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital leading the discussions. CISF personnel from the Delhi/NCR region attended in person along with their families, while personnel from other units joined virtually. The interactive format allowed doctors to address parents’ queries comprehensively, providing guidance on therapies, assistive devices, and inclusive education strategies.
Promoting Inclusive Welfare and Family Support
These counseling sessions highlight CISF’s commitment to holistic welfare and inclusive support for its personnel and their families. Through initiatives like these, CISF ensures that the health, dignity, and overall well-being of its members and their families remain a priority. By addressing the needs of divyang children, the force is not only strengthening family support systems but also fostering awareness and accessibility for differently-abled individuals within its community.

A Step Toward Empowering Families
The success of these sessions demonstrates the importance of expert-led guidance in empowering families to care effectively for their differently-abled children. CISF’s initiative under Sanrakshika serves as a model for other organizations aiming to provide inclusive support, ensuring that all members—regardless of abilities—have access to essential resources and professional assistance.
