Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed strong displeasure over the prolonged pendency of unresolved complaints on CM Helpline 1905, some pending for over six months. Chairing a review meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday, the Chief Minister directed immediate redressal of all such complaints under a special campaign, categorising them as “critical”.
Instructions Issued for Redressal Drive, Surprise Visits, and Accountability on Complaints
He cautioned officials that strict action will be taken against officers who fail to resolve complaints in a time-bound and satisfactory manner. Mr. Dhami instructed that no complaint should be closed arbitrarily and called for weekly monitoring of negative feedback on the portal.
The Chief Minister also ordered that Tehsil Day and Police Station Day be conducted simultaneously across the state, with plans for his own surprise visits to assess performance on the ground. Further, he directed all District Magistrates to regularly hold Janta Darshan, Tehsil Days, and Block Development Committee (BDC) meetings to strengthen public grievance redressal mechanisms.
Acknowledging good performance, Mr. Dhami appreciated the Transport, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Excise, and Energy departments for their work through the helpline. However, he urged departments like Public Works, Geology and Mining, Revenue, Home, and Finance to expedite grievance redressal. He also stressed on expediting plans to develop two model villages in each district, while ensuring joint action by police and administration in anti-encroachment and verification drives.
Mr. Dhami Becomes Longest-Serving BJP CM in Uttarakhand’s History!
On Friday, Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami achieved a historic milestone by becoming the longest-serving BJP Chief Minister in Uttarakhand since its formation. With three years and 358 days in office, he has surpassed Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat’s tenure of 3 years and 357 days.
Mr. Dhami now holds the distinction of being the second longest-serving Chief Minister of the state overall, behind only late Congress leader Pandit Narain Dutt Tiwari, who completed a full five-year term.
His rise followed the abrupt resignation of Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat in March 2021, just a week before completing four years in office. Following a brief stint by Mr. Tirath Singh Rawat, who served only 116 days, the BJP appointed Mr. Dhami, a three-time MLA and protégé of Mr. Bhagat Singh Koshyari, as the state’s 13th Chief Minister.
According to BJP State Media In-charge Mr. Manveer Chauhan, Mr. Dhami’s tenure is marked by key reforms including the anti-copying law, land law, anti-conversion law, and efforts to bring in the Uniform Civil Code, all contributing to his strong administrative record.
