Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a solemn program at the Gurudwara Sahib, Racecourse in Dehradun on the occasion of the 350th Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The Chief Minister paid obeisance at the Gurudwara, offered prayers, and listened to the soulful Shabad Kirtan performed at the venue.
Interactions and Honours at Gurudwara Sahib
After the religious ceremonies, CM Dhami met with the office bearers of Gurudwara Sahib, Racecourse, who presented him with mementos as a mark of respect. During the event, the Chief Minister also participated in Langar Seva, serving the congregation alongside the community.
Tributes to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami paid homage to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, stating that his sacrifice for protecting religion, human values, and principles holds an unparalleled place in history. He highlighted that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s teachings emphasized love, unity, and brotherhood, and his martyrdom continues to inspire values of harmony and mutual respect among people.
Development Initiatives for Sikh Pilgrims
The Chief Minister also announced the construction of a ropeway from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib, aimed at making the pilgrimage easier and more convenient for Sikh devotees. He further stated that benefits of minority educational institutions are being extended to the Sikh community as part of ongoing welfare measures.
