Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has reiterated that “development from heritage” is the guiding mantra of his government. He said efforts are being made to preserve the state’s cultural and spiritual heritage while simultaneously accelerating modern development initiatives. In this direction, the ancient Shri Radha Krishna temple at Mahalpur Patha in Raisen district will undergo comprehensive renovation and the complex will be developed into a grand spiritual center.
Dr. Yadav made these announcements while inaugurating the Shri Krishna festival at Mahalpur Patha temple complex in Gairatganj, Raisen, on the occasion of Janmashtami. He stressed that preserving temples and cultural sites strengthens the identity of Madhya Pradesh while also boosting regional development.
Boost to Urban Growth and Employment Opportunities
Highlighting the state’s broader developmental agenda, Dr. Yadav said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, cities like Indore and Bhopal will soon be developed as metropolitan hubs. He further added that adjoining districts, including Raisen, Sanchi, Vidisha, Rajgarh, and Narmadapuram, will become integral parts of this metropolitan expansion.
According to him, this urban growth will open new employment opportunities for the youth of Raisen and nearby areas. The Chief Minister assured that necessary steps will be taken to ensure inclusive growth for the region.
Rs. 136 Crore Development Works for Sanchi Constituency
During the program, Dr. Yadav dedicated development works worth Rs. 136 crore to the Sanchi Assembly constituency. He performed bhoomi pujan for 15 projects, including road connectivity to tribal villages, and pressed the remote button to launch several other developmental initiatives. He also distributed welfare benefits to local beneficiaries and planted saplings in the temple premises, reinforcing the government’s commitment to both infrastructure and environmental conservation.
Preserving Cultural Heritage with Modern Vision
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that the state government is committed to reviving historic sites and preserving the heritage of Madhya Pradesh. The Mahalpur Patha temple, which holds idols of Radha, Rukmani, and Lord Krishna, will be given a grand new look, and plans are in place to organize large fairs at the site in the coming years.
He highlighted the teachings of Lord Krishna, who spread the knowledge of dharma, karma, and science through the Bhagavad Gita, and said that these values remain relevant in guiding society towards righteousness and inclusive progress.
Strengthening Health and Infrastructure in Raisen
Sanchi Assembly also received a major boost in health infrastructure. A new 50-bed hospital at Gairatganj, a 30-bed hospital at Devnagar, and upgrades to the district hospital were announced. Additionally, 10 new health centers will be established and 10 new road projects are set to improve connectivity for tribal-dominated villages.

The event witnessed participation from MLA Dr. Prabhuram Chaudhary, Minister of State Mr. Narayan Singh Pankar, Minister of State Mr. Narendra Shivaji Patel, MLA Mr. Surendra Patwa, former Minister Mr. Rampal Singh Rajput, District Panchayat President Shrivat Moga, and community representatives, alongside members of the Radha Krishna Temple Committee and local villagers.
Historical Significance of Mahalpur Patha Temple
The Shri Radha Krishna temple at Mahalpur Patha dates back to 1297 AD. The temple complex houses idols of Radha, Krishna, and Rukmani, along with other shrines including Vishnu and Shiva temples. The fort near the temple is home to 51 ancient stepwells, adding to the historical and cultural significance of the region. These sites, when restored, are expected to promote spiritual tourism and boost the local economy.
