Bhopal: In a landmark initiative to encourage academic excellence and support girl students, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Thursday distributed scooties to 7,832 toppers of Class 12 from government schools at a state-level ceremony held at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Center in Bhopal.
The event turned memorable when CM Yadav rode pillion on a student’s scooty, symbolizing the government’s commitment to empowering youth. He congratulated the students and advised them to drive responsibly, obtain licenses, and ensure proper registration.
Over ₹68 Crore Transferred to Girl Students
Alongside the scooty distribution, the Chief Minister also transferred ₹61.12 crore directly into the bank accounts of 20.37 lakh girls under the Sanitation and Hygiene Scheme of Samagra Shiksha, providing ₹300 annually to support personal health and hygiene.
Additionally, ₹7 crore was transferred to 20,100 girls under the Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ School (Type-IV) Scheme, aimed at providing stipends and teaching-learning materials for hostel residents.

“Creating Opportunities for a Better Future”
Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is entering a new era of opportunity. He noted that students in Madhya Pradesh are receiving laptops, bicycles, books, and now scooties to support their education.
Highlighting India’s global rise, he emphasized that the nation is making significant strides in technology and space, while Prime Minister Modi’s leadership is being recognized worldwide. “The government wants to see children ride these scooties into a brighter future,” he remarked.
Development Focus in Madhya Pradesh
The Chief Minister underlined the transformation in the state’s education sector, pointing to the establishment of Sandipani Schools as centers of excellence. He contrasted this progress with the lack of basic facilities in earlier years, blaming past governments for neglect.
He also highlighted major initiatives in infrastructure and irrigation, including the Ken-Betwa River Linking Project, and called on the youth to become “job givers rather than job seekers” through entrepreneurship and industrialization.

Ministers Hail the Initiative
School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh described the occasion as a “day of celebration” for students, while Cooperation Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang said the double-engine government is rapidly creating new milestones in education, health, and industry.
Both ministers stressed that these initiatives not only reward merit but also strengthen the foundation for a skilled and healthy society in Madhya Pradesh.
