Bhopal: In a major step to encourage educational excellence and support digital empowerment among youth, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav transferred ₹235 crore directly to the bank accounts of 94,234 meritorious students under the Pratibha Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana. Each eligible student who secured more than 75% in their board exams received ₹25,000 for purchasing a laptop.
The grand event took place at the Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Center in Bhopal, where students, teachers, and officials gathered to celebrate the academic achievements of Class 12 students from both government and private schools.

Empowering Future Leaders, Not Just Job Seekers
While addressing the gathering, CM Yadav said,
“The government’s role is not just to run programs, but to nurture potential. Today’s children will become tomorrow’s doctors, IAS, IPS officers, and professors. But we also need leaders, farmers, and soldiers – youth who will build the nation in every sense.”
Dr. Yadav highlighted the government’s commitment to support students across all disciplines—not just medicine or civil services—and emphasized the importance of books, education, and vision for national development.
Key Highlights of the Program
- 60% of beneficiaries are girls, with the rest being boys — a fact CM called “a challenge and opportunity” for male students to excel further.
- 52% of the students are from government schools, while 48% are from private institutions.
- So far, more than 4 lakh students have benefited from the scheme in the last 15 years, with an overall investment exceeding ₹1,080 crore.
The CM announced plans to introduce electric scooters, cover entire medical education expenses, and expand medical colleges from 36 to 50 in the next two years.
Future Initiatives
Dr. Yadav declared that the government aims to distribute 15 lakh bicycles this year and may give laptops directly in future editions of the scheme instead of transferring funds.
Guard of Honour for Organ Donors
In an emotional and progressive announcement, the CM said that the state will now honour organ donors with a Guard of Honour.
“Organ donation is not death — it is immortality. We will honour such individuals so that others feel inspired,” he added.
Students Share Their Aspirations
Several students took the stage to share how the financial support will transform their education journey. Aspirations ranged from becoming doctors, engineers, IAS/IPS officers, professors, and tax officials—reflecting the broad dreams of India’s next generation.
