Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath chaired a high-level dialogue with public representatives of the Lucknow division at his official residence on Wednesday, underlining the state government’s commitment to region-specific development and participatory governance.
42 MLAs, 5 MLCs Present Ideas and Expectations
The meeting was attended by 42 MLAs and 5 Legislative Council members from six districts — Lucknow, Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Unnao, Sitapur, and Lakhimpur Kheri. Each public representative presented fresh proposals and highlighted local expectations to the Chief Minister, who promised phased, on-ground implementation.
Review of 3,397 Projects Worth Rs. 42,891 Crore
Mr. Yogi undertook an in-depth review of 3,397 developmental proposals involving an estimated outlay of Rs. 42,891 crore. He directed officials to prioritise and phase out these works while incorporating the suggestions made by public representatives. He insisted on a time-bound, feedback-driven system to ensure transparency and quality.
Preserving Regional Identity and Cultural Heritage
Emphasising the cultural legacy of each district, Mr. Yogi remarked:
- Lucknow represents both modern progress and the soul of Awadh.
- Hardoi is a land of truth and penance.
- Rae Bareli is rooted in literary and freedom movements.
- Unnao is the karmabhoomi of freedom fighters like Chandrashekhar Azad.
- Sitapur is revered for Naimisharanya’s religious significance.
- Lakhimpur Kheri is renowned for its biodiversity and Tharu culture.
Focus on Martyrs’ Villages, Infrastructure Projects Prioritised
The Chief Minister instructed the Public Works Department to give priority to road construction in the villages of martyrs and public representatives. He further pushed for expedited works on four-lane roads to district HQs, two-lane connectivity to blocks, ROB/RUBs, flyovers, black spot rectification, and sugar mill roads.
Tourism Development in Every Constituency
In a bid to enhance tourism, CM Yogi directed the Tourism Department to identify and develop at least one tourist site in every assembly constituency. Over 1,000 religious sites have already been revitalised under the Chief Minister’s Tourism Promotion Scheme, he noted.
Public Representatives to Be Integral to Project Planning
Stressing the importance of grassroots engagement, Mr. Yogi mandated that local public representatives must be consulted and their consent obtained before preparing project proposals. This ensures alignment with ground realities and maximises impact.
Strict Monitoring, Public Involvement in Groundbreaking Ceremonies
He instructed that Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone laying ceremonies should be conducted by the concerned public representatives after September 15, with their names engraved on plaques. The CM warned that poor-quality monitoring and negligence will not be tolerated.
A Governance Model Rooted in Accountability
Mr. Yogi reiterated the state’s vision: “Our administration will be transparent, responsive, and swift. Public feedback, cultural pride, and honest execution are the three pillars of Uttar Pradesh’s development.”
