Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote a detailed letter to the residents of the state, titled ‘Yogi Ki Pati’, outlining the significant changes, development milestones, and future vision for the state. In the letter, the CM emphasized how Uttar Pradesh has transformed from a struggling state into a growth engine of India and reiterated the government’s commitment to inclusive development and good governance.
From a Backward State to a Growth Engine
CM Yogi highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s journey from being labeled a “Bimaru state” to emerging as a driver of national economic growth. He attributed this transformation to strong governance, strict law enforcement, and determined leadership. The CM noted that the focus on law and order has removed fear created by criminal elements and paved the way for new investment opportunities in the state.
Law, Governance, and Investor Confidence
In the letter, CM Yogi addressed the residents directly, stating that Uttar Pradesh has broken free from the shackles of struggle and policy neglect. Key points include:
- Establishment of law and order with firm governance
- Ending the fear of mafia-backed power structures
- Attracting investors who previously avoided the state due to weak law enforcement
This has enabled development initiatives to move faster and strengthened Uttar Pradesh’s position as a preferred investment destination.
Agriculture and Industry: Pillars of Growth
CM Yogi emphasized that agriculture and industry are now the twin pillars driving the state’s growth:
- Agriculture: The state has become a backbone of India’s food security. Initiatives like ‘Seed to Market’ and record DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) payments have boosted farmers’ incomes.
- Industry: Large-scale industrial growth, labor reforms, MSME support, skill development programs, startups, and ODOP (One District One Product) initiatives have reduced migration and unemployment while creating substantial local and global employment opportunities.
Women and Social Welfare Initiatives
The CM highlighted the state’s progress in women’s empowerment and social security:
- Significant increase in female workforce participation
- Financial support programs from birth to marriage for girls
- Pensions for destitute women, elderly citizens, and differently-abled individuals
- Expansion of medical infrastructure and health-tech initiatives improving accessibility of health services
Connectivity and Cultural Revival
CM Yogi pointed out that improvements in road, rail, and air connectivity have accelerated trade, tourism, and investments. He also highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s cultural revival, from Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura to Sambhal, reflecting a resurgence in traditional values and local pride. Festivals and events now prominently showcase indigenous culture and products.
From Struggle to Celebration
The Chief Minister also shared key social and economic achievements:
- Over 6 crore people lifted out of poverty
- Transforming the state from bottlenecks to breakthroughs
- Converting revenue deficits into surpluses
- Moving from disruption to celebration in social and economic spheres
These accomplishments reflect the double-engine governance model driving Uttar Pradesh forward.
Uttar Pradesh Day: Reaffirming Development Goals
CM Yogi concluded the letter by urging citizens to celebrate Uttar Pradesh Day on January 24 as a moment to reaffirm their commitment to the state’s growth and development. He emphasized that collective efforts will continue the journey from vision to achievement, wishing all residents a happy and progressive Uttar Pradesh Day.
