Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that India, which was once facing an identity crisis, is now making itself felt as a major global power. Addressing students at a certificate distribution ceremony organized by the Samsung Innovation Campus at Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium, he emphasized that capable and effective leadership is key to changing the world’s perception of a country.
India’s Global Identity Strengthened Through Leadership
CM Yogi highlighted that before 2014, India struggled with systemic corruption and diminishing global prestige. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, development initiatives such as PM Startup, PM Standup, and Digital India have strengthened India’s global presence. These programs have played a vital role in positioning India as the fourth largest economy in the world.

Samsung Innovation Campus: Certificates Distributed to 1,300 Students
The event saw around 1,300 students from Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University and other technology institutes receive training certificates. The Chief Minister personally presented certificates to eight students. CM Yogi encouraged students to leverage emerging technologies and innovation to improve everyday life and enhance ease of living.
National Education Policy and Technology Integration
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in a timely manner. Highlighting collaborations like the UP government’s program with Tata Technologies, he said over 150 ITIs are now connected to modern vocational training in line with NEP objectives.
Problem-Solving, Responsibility, and Civic Awareness
CM Yogi urged students to avoid blaming the system for societal issues. He stressed that success comes from problem-solving and taking initiative rather than complaining. Using traffic violations as an example, he emphasized that following rules ensures safety and convenience. He also raised awareness about environmental challenges like pollution and stubble burning, urging citizens to adopt responsible practices.

Youth Empowerment and Self-Reliance
The Chief Minister announced a Rs. 1,000 crore fund for youth self-reliance and urged industries to provide internships and practical training. He highlighted that 50–60% of Uttar Pradesh’s workforce is young, and connecting them with technology and innovation can boost economic growth. The state’s Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme has provided tablets and smartphones to 20 million youth to facilitate learning and skill development.
Uttar Pradesh: A Hub for Technology and Manufacturing
CM Yogi noted that Uttar Pradesh manufactures 55% of India’s mobile phones and 60% of electronic equipment. Samsung has established its largest plant in Noida, reflecting the state’s growing role as a hub of global innovation. JB Park, President & CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, praised Uttar Pradesh as a center of innovation and pledged continued support for youth training initiatives.
Innovation, Research, and Future Growth
The Chief Minister emphasized that innovation and research are critical for India to become a global superpower. He encouraged students to connect with Prime Minister and Chief Minister internship programs and start-ups. Prof. Poonam Tandon and Vinod Sharma, Chairman of the Electronics Sector Skill Council of India, lauded CM Yogi for his vision in empowering youth through skill-to-innovation programs.
