New Delhi: In a proud moment for India’s public sector, Sh. Kamal Nath Thakur, Additional General Manager (Finance) at NTPC Ltd, was conferred with the ‘CMA of the Year Award 2024’ during a grand ceremony hosted at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

The prestigious award was presented by Mr. Bhartruhari Mahtab, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance, in the presence of the President of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) and several other dignitaries from the government and corporate sectors.

Honoring Financial Vision in the Power Sector
Mr. Thakur was recognized for his outstanding contribution to the field of cost and management accounting and for bringing financial innovation, transparency, and cost-efficiency to critical public sector undertakings. With over 30 years of experience spanning the mining, fertilizer, and power sectors, he has been instrumental in implementing value-based financial strategies and performance benchmarking mechanisms across government enterprises.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Kamal Nath Thakur expressed heartfelt gratitude to ICMAI and dedicated the award to his father.
