Coal India Foundation Day 2025: WCL Marks Milestone with Grand Celebration and Employee Participation

New Delhi: Team Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) celebrated the 51st Coal India Foundation Day with great zeal and enthusiasm across the company. The occasion was marked by a series of events at the WCL Headquarters, highlighting the organization’s achievements and its pivotal role in India’s energy sector.

Rally Marks the Celebration

A special rally was organized at the WCL Headquarters to commemorate the Foundation Day. The rally was flagged off by Mr. Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, Chief Vigilance Officer, who actively participated and led the procession himself. The event witnessed participation from employees, women staff, and officials from various departments, creating a vibrant and spirited atmosphere.

Flag Hoisting and Address

Following the rally, Mr. Mhetre hoisted the Coal India Limited (CIL) flag and addressed the gathering. In his speech, he extended warm greetings to all employees on the occasion and shared insights into the glorious history of the coal industry. He highlighted the remarkable achievements of Coal India Limited and the significant contribution of WCL in its success.

Mr. Mhetre also spoke about the evolving landscape of the coal sector, emphasizing the importance of technological advancement to meet the nation’s growing coal demand. He underlined the crucial role played by Coal India and WCL in ensuring India’s energy security. Prior to the flag hoisting ceremony, the Coal India corporate song was played, adding a ceremonial touch to the celebrations.

Vibrant Participation Across the Organization

The event witnessed the gracious presence of General Managers, Heads of Departments, officers, employees, and women participants, reflecting the inclusive and participatory spirit of the organization. The celebrations highlighted not only the rich legacy of Coal India but also the ongoing commitment of WCL toward innovation, sustainability, and national energy growth.
