New Delhi / Kochi: Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a Schedule ‘A’ Miniratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has announced a vacancy for the top leadership position of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). Eligible candidates from CPSEs, government services, armed forces, and the private sector can apply for the post by February 13, 2026.

Key Details of CMD Position

  • Post: Chairman & Managing Director
  • Pay Scale: ₹2,00,000 – ₹3,70,000 (IDA)
  • Tenure: 5 years or till superannuation (maximum age 60 years)
  • Last Date to Apply: February 13, 2026 (up to 3:00 PM)

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Employment Status

Applicants must be working in a regular (non-contractual) capacity in one of the following:

  • Central or State CPSEs with annual turnover of ₹2,000 crore or more
  • Central Government as Group ‘A’ officers at Additional Secretary level
  • Armed Forces officers of Lieutenant General or equivalent rank
  • Private sector companies with annual turnover of ₹2,000 crore or more

Educational Qualifications

Candidates should possess one of the following:

  • Engineering Degree
  • Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant
  • Postgraduate degree
  • Graduate degree with MBA / PGDIM

Experience Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience in the last ten years in areas such as Finance, Business Development, Production, Operations, Marketing, or Project Management in a large organization. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in ship design, ship construction, or ship repair.

Application Process and Important Instructions

Interested candidates must apply online through the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) website. Applications from government and PSU candidates must be forwarded through the proper channel.

Central Government officers, including Armed Forces personnel, will be considered only on an immediate absorption basis and must submit an undertaking to join if selected.

Cochin Shipyard Limited was incorporated in 1972 and upgraded to Schedule ‘A’ CPSE in July 2023. The company specializes in shipbuilding and ship repair to international standards. As of November 30, 2025, CSL had a market capitalization of approximately ₹43,800 crore, with the Government of India holding 67.91% equity stake.
