Kochi: Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has announced that Shri Madhu Sankunny Nair, the current Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the company, will hold additional charge of the posts of Director (Technical) and Director (Operations).
This interim arrangement follows the retirement of two senior board members.
Two Directors Superannuated on May 31
The development comes as Bejoy Bhasker retired from the position of Director (Technical), while Sreejith K Narayanan superannuated from the role of Director (Operations), both effective May 31, 2025.
In a related update, Biju Prabhakar, Retired IAS officer, has also been relieved from his role as a Part-time Official (Nominee) Director. He had already retired from active government service on April 30, 2025, and his position on the CSL board formally concluded on May 31, 2025.
Nomination Process for New Director Underway
Cochin Shipyard has stated, through an exchange filing, that the process for obtaining requisite approvals for nominating a new official director is currently in progress. The appointments will be announced once the necessary clearances are secured.
The company’s leadership restructure comes at a critical time as it continues to advance various strategic and defense-related shipbuilding projects under its expanding mandate.
