New Delhi: The Delhi government, on the instructions of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, has undertaken a significant administrative reshuffle, changing the work profiles of 23 senior officials, including 16 IAS officers and six DANICS officers. The reshuffle, aimed at streamlining governance and improving administrative efficiency, involves additional charges, departmental transfers, and reassignment of portfolios.
Chief Minister’s Secretary Gets I&PR Department
2002 batch IAS officer from AGMUT cadre, Mr Vikas Anand, Secretary to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has been entrusted with the additional charge of the Information and Public Relations Department. This move aligns communication and public outreach strategies more closely with the Chief Minister’s Office.
Key Changes in Administrative Portfolios
Several key departments such as Finance, Health, IT, and Social Welfare have witnessed notable realignments–
Sandeep Kumar, currently Principal Secretary (Vigilance), has now also been assigned the additional charge of Principal Secretary (IT). He continues to hold Environment, Forests, and Administrative Reforms portfolios.
Dr Dilraj Kaur has been appointed Principal Secretary (Social Welfare), retaining additional charge of SC/ST/OBC Welfare Department.
Shoorveer Singh will now oversee the Finance Department as Secretary, in addition to General Administration and Electricity.
Prince Dhawan, Managing Director of DTC, will also handle roles as Special Secretary (IT) and Executive Director (GSDL).
New Responsibilities in Transport and Education
The Transport Department, which has seen major personnel changes, now has-
G. Sudhakar, Central Delhi DM, assigned additional charge of MD (Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation – SRDC).
Pankaj Kumar, Controller (Weights & Measures), is also now Special Secretary (NCR) and Deputy DM (HQ).
Anjali Sahrawat, Director (Social Welfare), will take charge of Higher Education and Technical Education.
Kinni Singh, Special Secretary (Health), takes on Public Grievance Commission and Delhi State AIDS Control Society.
CM Office Strengthened with DANICS Officers
Two DANICS officers have been deputed to the Chief Minister’s Office-
Prashant Kumar appointed Additional Secretary (Public Grievance Cell).
Dr. Nidhi Saroh appointed Joint Secretary (Public Grievance Cell).

Transport Department Sees 24 Mid-Level Transfers
In a separate reshuffle, the Transport Department has transferred 24 officers, including six District Transport Officers (DTOs)–
- Sampat Nayak: Shifted to Scrapping Cell
- Rakesh Kumar: Moved from Mall Road to ARU
- Mukesh Buddhiraja: Continues as DTO Headquarters
- Rakesh Vaidya: Transferred to Burari from Jhuljhuli
- Sunil Chauhan: Posted to Jhuljhuli from Burari
These changes are expected to streamline service delivery in transport enforcement, policy, and operations.
