Uttar Pradesh Floods: CM Yogi Adityanath Forms ‘Team-11’ for Swift and Transparent Flood Relief Across 12 Districts

Lucknow: – Taking swift action amid the ongoing flood crisis, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted an 11-member ministerial team—dubbed ‘Team-11’—to oversee and coordinate flood relief efforts across 12 severely affected districts. The Chief Minister issued a stern warning that any negligence in relief operations would not be tolerated, emphasizing the need for sensitivity, speed, and transparency in managing the crisis.

In an official release on Saturday, the CM reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring the safety, food, shelter, and healthcare of every citizen impacted by the floods. He instructed all designated ministers to immediately visit their assigned districts, inspect relief camps, and engage directly with flood-affected families.

Senior officials—including District Magistrates (DMs), Superintendents of Police (SPs), and Chief Medical Officers (CMOs)—have been directed to remain on the ground, ensuring 24×7 monitoring of the situation. The Chief Minister stressed round-the-clock surveillance of embankments, rapid drainage of waterlogged areas, and comprehensive arrangements for food, medicine, sanitation, and the special needs of women and children in relief camps.

Relief Operations and Assistance

Highlighting the importance of quality and timeliness, CM Yogi mandated that relief materials and food packets must be distributed promptly and meet high standards. Special attention will be given to farmers affected by crop losses, land erosion, or damage to homes, with compensation assistance promised within 24 hours. To maintain transparency, aid distribution will be coordinated closely with local public representatives.

Livestock safety has been identified as a top priority. The government has ordered the relocation of animals from flooded villages to safer locations, ensuring the provision of fodder and veterinary care. All flood-affected hospitals have been instructed to stock adequate supplies of anti-snake venom and anti-rabies injections, ensuring swift medical attention for snakebite victims.

Disaster Preparedness and Communication

The Chief Minister has called for strict adherence to disaster management protocols, with early warning alerts issued by the Relief Commissioner to be promptly communicated to affected communities. In anticipation of potential urban flooding, officials are tasked with cleaning drains, maintaining operational pumping stations, and ensuring backup power via generators to avoid service disruptions.

Efforts are underway to expedite crop loss surveys transparently, with swift compensation facilitated by the Revenue and Panchayati Raj Departments. The deployment of NDRF, SDRF, and PAC flood units has been intensified to assist in relief operations.

CM Yogi also emphasized the critical need to combat misinformation, ordering immediate action against rumors to preserve public confidence and maintain effective communication throughout the crisis.

Government Coordination and Public Outreach

The Chief Minister underscored that the zero loss of life remains the top priority for the government. He directed all departments—including administration, police, health, urban and rural bodies—to work in close coordination. Continuous public outreach through the CM Helpline and the Integrated Control Room has been mandated to support affected communities and boost morale with a sensitive, humane approach.

High-level monitoring of all flood-affected districts will be maintained with regular updates sent directly to the CM’s Office. Calling the flood crisis a significant test of government unity and preparedness, CM Yogi asserted that the Uttar Pradesh government is fully committed to meeting the challenge head-on.
