Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Delhi Secretariat to assess the progress of ongoing development works across the capital. She gave strict instructions to officials to ensure that budget constraints do not delay projects and directed that all tenders be completed by March so that work is finished before the monsoon.
The meeting reviewed projects under the Chief Minister Development Fund (CMDF), Delhi Village Development Board (DVDB), and Yamuna Vistar Area Development Board (TYADB), totaling ₹3,786 crore for roads, drainage, water supply, parks, and other civic infrastructure.
CMDF Projects: 3,812 Development Schemes in Progress
Chief Minister Gupta highlighted that under the CMDF, a total of 3,812 development projects worth approximately ₹1,798.85 crore have been approved. These projects include:
- Road and drain construction
- Water supply improvements
- Street lighting
- Park development
- Other essential civic facilities
“These projects are being implemented through agencies like the MCD, Irrigation & Flood Control Department, Delhi Jal Board, PWD, DSIIDC, and TPDDL. The majority are executed through the Municipal Corporation,” the CM said.
Rural Development: ₹1,557 Crore for Village Projects
For comprehensive village development, the DVDB has approved 707 projects with a total outlay of ₹1,557 crore. These projects aim to strengthen basic facilities and improve living standards in rural Delhi.
Key implementing agencies include:
- Irrigation & Flood Control Department – 411 projects
- Delhi Municipal Corporation – 293 projects
- DSIIDC – 3 projects
“The work is being executed at a fast pace to ensure rural development goals are met efficiently,” said CM Gupta.
Yamuna Vistar Area Development: 799 Ongoing Projects
In the Yamuna Vistar region, the TYADB has 799 ongoing development works worth ₹430 crore. Projects include:
- Road and drainage construction
- Drinking water facilities
- Parks and street lighting
- Community and school buildings
- Footbridges and other essential infrastructure
CM Gupta directed all agencies to work in coordination and complete pending documentation and tender processes promptly to accelerate project implementation.
CM Emphasizes Speed and Accountability
The Chief Minister stressed that development work must be visible on the ground and urged officials to start new fiscal year projects immediately. She reaffirmed that budget allocation will not be a constraint, and strict monitoring will ensure timely completion.
