Director General of Police (DGP) Mr. Robin Hibu, a 1993-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, visited Medhavi Skills University (MSU) for an interactive session with students, highlighting the importance of skill-based education and public service.

A strong advocate for industry-integrated higher education and founder of the NGO Helping Hands, Mr. Hibu was warmly welcomed by MSU’s Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor, Mr. Kuldip Sarma, along with esteemed faculty members. Discussions focused on expanding collaborative skill development initiatives to create more opportunities for students in the Northeast region. MSU, in partnership with Helping Hands, also operates the Mahatma Gandhi Centre in Ziro, dedicated to equipping the youth of Arunachal Pradesh with industry-relevant skills.
During his campus tour, Mr. Hibu explored MSU’s cutting-edge laboratories, specializing in emergency care, microbiology, clinical biochemistry, optometry, radiology, hematology, and physiotherapy. He also inspected the university’s academic spaces, digital learning facilities, student hostels, and ongoing infrastructure projects.
In an interactive session with students and faculty, Mr. Hibu shared insights from his vast experience in law enforcement and social service, emphasizing the significance of skill-integrated academic programs and industry-oriented training modules.
Following the tour, Mr. Hibu delivered a keynote address at MSU’s seminar hall, where he highlighted the role of skill-based education in empowering India’s youth. He urged students to pursue their passions and develop expertise aligned with the evolving job market demands.
“It is heartening to witness MSU’s dedication to skill development and industry-academia collaboration. Institutions like MSU are shaping India’s future by equipping students with practical knowledge and hands-on experience,” said Mr. Hibu.
Pro-Chancellor Mr. Kuldip Sarma emphasized the impact of such visits, stating, “Shri Robin Hibu’s presence motivates students to excel in skill-based learning. By honing their skills, they contribute not only to their personal growth but also to India’s progress.”
The visit concluded with cultural performances by MSU students, showcasing the rich traditions of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and other northeastern states.
