New Delhi: In a significant step toward improving the resilience of public infrastructure in India, Engineering Projects (India) Ltd. (EPI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on June 19 in New Delhi.
The collaboration aims to mainstream disaster risk reduction (DRR) into infrastructure design and execution, ensuring the development of climate-resilient and disaster-proof projects nationwide.
Top Officials Attend Signing Ceremony
The MoU was signed by Sunil Dahiya, Director (Projects), EPI, and Vivek Jayaswal, Officer on Special Duty to Member & Head of Department, NDMA, in the presence of senior representatives from both organisations. Shivendra Nath, CMD of EPI, and Biswajit Biswas, Executive Director, were also present.
Focus on Climate-Resilient Infrastructure
- Under the terms of the MoU, the two entities will collaborate to:
- Integrate DRR strategies into infrastructure planning and project execution
- Enhance the resilience of public infrastructure to natural disasters and climate events
- Promote safer, sustainable, and robust development models
EPI will draw on its engineering expertise, while NDMA will contribute technical know-how in disaster preparedness and management.

Speaking at the event, EPI CMD Shivendra Nath emphasized the criticality of the partnership:
“This alliance merges our engineering excellence with NDMA’s disaster management prowess to create safer and robust infrastructure.”
The partnership reflects a joint vision to reduce disaster-related disruptions and safeguard public investments in infrastructure.
