In a major boost to Uttar Pradesh’s administrative machinery, 22 senior Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers have been promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued an official notification confirming the elevations, based on the selection lists for 2023 and 2024. These officers have been allocated to IAS batches of 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Out of the 22 newly inducted IAS officers, two have already received new postings. Balram Singh has been appointed Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Siddharthnagar, while Vinod Kumar Gaur has been posted as CDO of Farrukhabad. The posting orders for the remaining 20 officers are expected shortly, and the Uttar Pradesh government is likely to issue a formal notification in the coming days.

Batch-Wise Allocation

  • 2019 Batch: Bhanu Pratap Yadav
  • 2020 Batch: Vidhan Jaiswal, Rajesh Kumar Singh, Balram Singh, Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, Devi Prasad Pal, Anju Lata, Jai Nath Yadav, Gulab Chandra, Ram Suresh Verma, Ran Vijay Singh, Dayanand Prasad, and Vinod Kumar Gaur
  • 2021 Batch: Sachin Kumar Singh, Vivek Kumar Srivastava, Basant Agrawal, Vandita Srivastava, Mahendra Kumar Singh, Vinay Kumar Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Yogendra Kumar, and Neelam

Strengthening the Bureaucratic Cadre

Welcoming the move, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh said, “This promotion will infuse new energy into the state’s administrative setup. These officers bring with them years of grassroots experience from their PCS service and will significantly contribute to governance and service delivery.”

The promotion of these officers marks a significant milestone in their careers and is seen as a recognition of their long-standing service, commitment, and performance. It also reflects the state government’s focus on nurturing in-house talent and strengthening the bureaucratic framework.

Once all officers are posted, the elevation is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and accelerate developmental initiatives across Uttar Pradesh, particularly in sectors like rural development, social welfare, infrastructure, and public service delivery.
