New Delhi: Dheeraj Mittal, 2012 batch Indian Forest Service officer of Gujarat cadre, Deputy Secretary in the Department of Food & Public Distribution, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre, Gujarat, on personal grounds.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) approved the repatriation following a proposal from the Department of Food & Public Distribution. Mr. Mittal will also be eligible for extended cooling-off as per the norms.
He had been appointed as Deputy Secretary in March 2025 for a tenure until 26 July 2026, completing a combined four-year admissible posting at this level. Prior to this assignment, he served as Assistant Inspector General of Forests in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Tenure Extensions for CVOs
Thillaivasan Prabhu (IOFS: 2001) – Chief Vigilance Officer, Cochin Port Authority (CoPA), Kochi, has had his tenure extended for two years, from 26.12.2025 to 25.12.2027.
Ajay Madhukar Mhetre (ITS: 1998) – Chief Vigilance Officer, Western Coalfields Ltd. (WCL), Nagpur, has also received a two-year tenure extension beyond 26.12.2025, now ending on 26.12.2027.
These appointments and extensions ensure continuity in key administrative roles and adherence to personnel policies of the Government of India.
