IAS officer Dr. Adapa Karthik will soon join World Health Organization, South-East Asia Regional Office (SEARO) as the Regional Adviser Digital Health (P-5). The Central government has granted him permission on the proposal of Punjab government.
Dr. Karthik is an IAS officer of 2008 batch and Punjab cadre. His new role in WHO has been approved in accordance to rule 6 (2) of the IAS cadre Rules, 1954. According to the order issued by Department of Personnel & training his tenure will be of two years.
Topper of UPSC CSE 2007, Dr. Karthik hails from Andhra Pradesh and is a doctor by training.He had got a scholarship from both Harvard and Cambridge for post-graduation.
