Speaking at the East Tech Seminar 2025 “Atmanirbhar Se Sampoornata” at Kerketta Auditorium in Deepatoli, Ranchi, he emphasized that the event is a major opportunity to create a positive image of Jharkhand and enable its entrepreneurs and startups to play a key role in building a self-reliant India.

The seminar was organized jointly by the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jharkhand. During the program, Mr. Seth unveiled the official logo of East Tech 2025.

Defence Sector Opportunities for Jharkhand

Highlighting the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr. Seth said the goal of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and a self-reliant Ministry of Defence can only be achieved with the active participation of states like Jharkhand. He pointed out that India currently exports defence material to 92 countries, with exports worth over Rs. 23,000 crore so far and a target of Rs. 50,000 crore. Jharkhand’s entrepreneurs, he said, can make a strong contribution to achieving this ambitious goal.

Support from Defence Command and Industry Experts

Major General Madanraj Pandey of the Eastern Command said that East Tech 2025 will directly benefit the defence sector by strengthening the supply chain and meeting critical needs. Major General Sajjan Singh Mann added that the event will serve as a bridge between the Army and industries, promoting cooperation, innovation, and the adoption of new technologies.

Representatives from SIDM and CII stressed that India is moving rapidly towards self-reliance in defence. Brigadier Ashish Bhattacharya highlighted the key role of MSMEs in defence manufacturing, while CII Eastern Region Chairman Sanjay Sabarpal underlined the potential for new industrial collaborations.

Boost for MSMEs and Startups in Jharkhand

Former MP Mahesh Poddar described East Tech as a big opportunity for Jharkhand’s MSME sector. Jharkhand Chamber President Paresh Gattani, JSIA Secretary Shivam Singh, Laghu Udyog Bharati Secretary Vinod Kumar Agarwal, Singhbhum Chamber’s Vijay Anand, and other industry representatives also echoed the sentiment that the expo will give a new direction to Jharkhand’s industrial growth.

Brigadier Rajkumar delivered the vote of thanks, with all stakeholders agreeing that East Tech 2025 will help Jharkhand scale new heights in industrial development and defence sector participation.

Curtain-Raiser Marks Beginning of East Tech 2025 Preparations

The curtain-raiser event of East Tech 2025 concluded successfully in Ranchi, setting the stage for the defence technology exhibition to be held at Khelgaon Sports Complex from September 19 to 21. Mr. Seth, speaking as chief guest, said the initiative will not only strengthen national security but also accelerate regional development by promoting industry participation, technological innovation, and job creation.
