Indian Masterminds Stories

New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL), a leading public sector enterprise, announced that nearly 35 percent of its total order inflows in the financial year 2024-25 came from the infrastructure sector. This significant share highlights the company’s ongoing diversification beyond its traditional hydrocarbon projects, as revealed by Chairperson and Managing Director Vartika Shukla during the 60th Annual General Meeting held virtually on Wednesday.

Diversification into Infrastructure Boosts Order Book

Vartika Shukla highlighted that the infrastructure segment has expanded considerably, encompassing projects such as high-end data centres, laboratories, academic complexes, and other landmark constructions. This diversification strategy has helped EIL secure its highest-ever order inflows and build an order book at an all-time peak, reflecting growing confidence in the company’s capabilities across sectors.

Strategic Priorities for Future Growth

  • Scaling up presence in new energy sectors.
  • Expanding business operations in international markets.
  • Enhancing technological capabilities with a focus on sustainability and digitalisation.
  • Promoting localisation and supporting the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

These priorities aim to position EIL as a key player in the evolving energy landscape while strengthening its diversified portfolio.

Celebrating Six Decades of Legacy and Innovation

The 60th Annual General Meeting also celebrated EIL’s six decades of pioneering contributions towards indigenising India’s hydrocarbon sector. Shukla reflected on the company’s journey from a specialist in hydrocarbons to a broader role in the ongoing global energy transition, signaling EIL’s preparedness to address future challenges and opportunities.

Looking Ahead

With a robust order book and a clear vision for growth, EIL is well-positioned to continue its trajectory as a diversified engineering consultancy and project management company, contributing significantly to India’s infrastructure development and energy transition ambitions.
