New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL), a leading public sector engineering and consultancy company, is set for a top-level leadership change as Chairperson & Managing Director (CMD) Vartika Shukla prepares to retire on February 28, 2026, concluding her impactful five-year tenure.

Vartika Shukla’s Tenure and Achievements

Ms. Shukla took charge as CMD on September 1, 2021, and during her tenure, she has steered EIL through significant growth and expansion, both domestically and internationally. Under her leadership, the company strengthened its presence in energy, infrastructure, and industrial projects, while enhancing operational efficiency, project execution, and strategic initiatives.

Industry observers credit her tenure with driving innovation, streamlining operations, and expanding EIL’s global footprint, positioning the company as a trusted partner in large-scale engineering and consultancy projects.

Atul Gupta Recommended as Successor

The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Mr. Atul Gupta, currently serving as Director (Commercial) at EIL, as the next CMD. His appointment is subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Mr. Gupta is expected to continue EIL’s growth trajectory, focusing on domestic and international project expansion, innovation, and strengthening the company’s operational and strategic capabilities. Stakeholders and industry watchers are closely monitoring the transition as EIL prepares to enter its next phase of development.
