The Bihar government has appointed former chief secretary, Mr. Amir Subhani (1987 batch IAS), as the Chairperson of the Bihar Electricity Regularity Commission (BERC), replacing retired IAS officer Mr. Shishir Sinha (1982 batch IAS). Mr. Subhani was succeeded by Mr. Brajesh Malhotra (1989 batch IAS officer) as the new Chief Secretary of Bihar.
Mr. Subhani shall serve for a tenure of five years or till he attains 65 years of age, whichever comes earlier.
