FSSAI Chief Ganji Kamala V Rao’s Tenure Extended

The Modi government extended Ganji Kamala V Rao’s tenure as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) by one year. This is his second extension. His current extended tenure was to expire on August 31.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of the re-employment of Ganji Kamala V Rao as CEO of FSSAI on a contract basis for one year beyond August 31, 2024.

Rao was appointed as the FSSAI chief in December 2022. His tenure was extended by one year beyond August 31, 2023, the date of his superannuation.
