GAIL (India) Limited has been awarded the prestigious “Initiatives in Promoting Hydrogen Company of the Year” title at the FIPI Oil & Gas Awards 2023. The accolade was presented by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep S Puri, during a ceremony in New Delhi. The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi and Ministry Secretary Pankaj Jain, alongside top executives from GAIL.

GAIL earned this recognition for its significant strides in hydrogen innovation, notably its groundbreaking 4.3 TPD Green Hydrogen pilot project in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh. This initiative aligns with the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NHGM) and underscores GAIL’s commitment to fostering a sustainable energy transition in India.

This pilot project is a cornerstone in GAIL’s roadmap toward achieving net-zero emissions, catalyzing the developing of a robust hydrogen ecosystem in the country. By investing in cutting-edge technology and advancing research and development in hydrogen energy, GAIL is helping to position India as a global leader in clean energy solutions.

The FIPI Oil & Gas Awards are an annual recognition of excellence in the energy sector, celebrating transformative initiatives and exceptional achievements that contribute to the industry’s growth and sustainability. GAIL’s recognition highlights its role in driving innovation and supporting India’s ambitions for energy security and environmental stewardship.
