National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL) will significantly enhance farmers’ access to international markets and boost cooperatives, said Madhya Pradesh Cooperative Minister Vishwas Sarang at a June 27 workshop in Bhopal. This new initiative aligns with the state’s push to secure fair prices and strengthen cooperative networks.
MoU Connects 1,578 Societies to NCEL
Sarang announced that the Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Federation and the Mandi Board recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NCEL. The move will help farmers export spices, paddy, coriander, and bananas more efficiently.
“A total of 1,578 societies across MP have joined NCEL,” he added, noting that the effort will ensure fair prices and reinforce cooperative structures.

Cooperative Movement Gets Stronger
State Farmer Welfare Minister Aidal Singh Kansana said Madhya Pradesh leads in the cooperative ecosystem and has won the Krishi Kisan Award seven times. Additional Chief Secretary Ashok Barnwal emphasized that institutional collaboration ensures farmers receive the right price on delivery.
Direct Market Access to Improve Farmer Incomes
NCEL managing director Anupam Kaushik highlighted how direct linkage to global markets can elevate farm incomes. “We aim to promote prosperity through cooperation and progress through export,” he stated. Kaushik also underscored support from the state government and its departments.
Strategic Implications for Farmers and Cooperatives
This export-focused partnership promises to improve prices, reduce intermediaries, and expand market reach for MP’s agricultural produce. By integrating cooperatives into international trade channels, NCEL aims to strengthen the entire value chain—from procurement to export.
