Giridhar Aramane Given Add Charge Of Ex-Servicemen Welfare

Senior IAS officer Giridhar Aramane has been given the additional charge of the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare in place of Vijay Kumar Singh. The place was vacant after Mr. Singh was repatriated to his parent cadre and appointed as the Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Mr. Aramane is an IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre and, is from the 1988 batch. He will take up the additional responsibility while continuing his role as the Secretary in the Department of Defence. He assumed his role in the Department of Defence in November 2022. Earlier, he also served as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.

He studied in IIT Madras and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad and served as the Collector of Chittoor and Khammam districts in Andhra. He also served as Principal Secretary in Urban Development Department; Managing Director of AP State Finance Corporation and Secretary Finance Department.
