Giving one more chance to UPSC candidates under active consideration: Central govt to SC

The bench was informed that the government is actively considering the matter and ASG has instructions for seeking an adjournment to the first week of February.

The Supreme Court was informed by the Central government that a proposal to give an extra chance to civil service aspirants affected due to the COVID-led pandemic is under active consideration.

Additional Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju informed the bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar that the government and UPSC are actively considering the proposal to give one more opportunity to affected students due to COVID-19.

The bench was informed that the government is actively considering the matter and ASG has instructions for seeking an adjournment to the first week of February.

The court asserted that it should not happen that the last day of filing the forms passes by, and further posted the matter for hearing in February.
