New Delhi: The Central Government on Friday issued a series of important appointment notifications across ministries, departments, and public sector units, involving senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS), and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) officers. The changes reflect routine administrative movements, promotions, and new assignments at key posts in the Government of India and Indian Railways.
Additional Charge at Inter-State Council Secretariat
Ansuli Arya (IAS: 1989: BH), currently serving as Secretary, Department of Official Language, has been given the additional charge of Secretary, Inter-State Council Secretariat from September 20 to October 12, 2025, during the leave of Ashish Srivastava (IAS: 1992: MP).
Key Appointments in Indian Railways
A significant reshuffle was announced at the General Manager level across multiple railway zones:
- Naresh Pal Singh has been appointed General Manager, North Central Railway (NCR), headquartered in Prayagraj.
- Uday Borwankar will take over as General Manager, North Eastern Railway (NER), based in Gorakhpur.
- Subhransu Sekhar Mishra is appointed as General Manager, Metro Railway, Kolkata.
- Vijay Kumar will assume charge as General Manager, Central Railway, Mumbai, with effect from September 30, 2025, upon the superannuation of current GM Dharamveer Meena.
At the Railway Board level:
R Rajagopal (IRMS) has been appointed as Member (Traction & Rolling Stock), Railway Board in Level 17 (Apex Scale).
IPS Officer Piyush Anand Promoted to Apex Scale
Piyush Anand (IPS: 1991: UP), Director General of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), has been granted the Apex pay scale (Level 17), recognizing his seniority and responsibilities at the national level.
New Appointments Across Ministries
Several IAS and ISS officers have been appointed or reassigned to central ministries:
- Shivaji Narasu Patil (ISS: 2010) has been appointed Director in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation for a tenure of five years.
- Neeraj Kumar Singh (IAS: 2012: MP) has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & IT, Jitin Prasada, for a period of five years.
- K Balaji (IAS: 2010: UP) has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs till April 27, 2027, completing his five-year tenure.
- Ruchika Katyal (IAS: 2013: AGMUT) has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for four years.
